Festival of Jewish Texts and Ideas Metropolis
Eshkolot’s Festival of Jewish Texts and Ideas, held for the first time in Jerusalem, focuses on the city’s unique power to induce visions of the future. With a slow-reading of eschatological, mystical and utopian texts from the Biblical prophets to Zionist visionaries, participants gain an understanding of the way in which Jerusalem has always inspired human pursuit of the ideal world.
With classes led by international and Israeli scholars of repute, carefully selected students and young professionals choose one of three tracks enabling an in-depth study and discussion. The readings are accompanied by plenary lectures, city walks, evening edutainment programs, all with a strong focus on community building and follow-up activities.
Each track includes 11 textual learning workshops and 15 hours of “field work”
